Loretta Marie Harrington of Irondale, Missouri was born on Monday, March 11, 1929 in Leadwood, Missouri a daughter of the late, Lena (Bates) Parks and Russell M. Parks. Loretta departed this life on Sunday, November 21, 2010 having reached the age of eighty-one years, eight months and ten days.
Loretta was united in marriage to Walter E. Harrington on January 17, 1952 in Pocahontas, Arkansas.
Loretta is survived by three daughters, Nancy Patterson of Irondale, Missouri and husband, Terry of DeSoto, Missouri, Tammy Copling and husband, John of Cuba, Missouri, Valerie Roan and husband, Dave of Barnhart, Missouri; four sons, Terry Hawkins and wife, Carolyn of Irondale, Missouri, Walter “Gene” Harrington and wife, Kelly of Forsythe, Montana, Chris Harrington and wife, Carol of Farmington, Missouri, Mark Harrington and wife, Nedra of Farmington, Missouri; two sisters, Lelia Laws of Blue Springs, Missouri, Francis Hulsey and husband, Bob of Desloge, Missouri; two brothers, Dennis Parks and wife, Betty of Leadwood, Missouri, Danny Parks of Branson, Missouri; twenty-three grandchildren, fifty-one great grandchildren; dear and special friend, Martha Brown and beloved dog, Spencer. In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Harrington, two daughters, Sandra Fowler, Connie Turner, one sister, Mickey Short, one brother, Sherdale Parks, two grandchildren, Timmy Crawford, Christopher Harrington, two great grandchildren, Kenneth Patterson and Andrew Patterson.
Loretta enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed selling and using Avon products for years. Loretta would volunteer several places always helping anyone she could. Loretta attended the Irondale Assembly of God Church. She will be remembered by her family and friends for the love she shared.
Visitation was held Tuesday, November 23, 2010 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Wednesday, November 24, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Irondale, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Irondale, Missouri with Reverend Bobbie Brown and Reverend Roy Adams officiating.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Workmans Cemetery, Park Hills, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Dennis Parks, Jr., Rodney Reed, Rodney Hulsey, Chris Meinershagen, Josh Harrington, Benji House, Cody House, Dylan Parks and Keaton House.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 104 Oak Street, Irondale, Missouri.
