PEGGY SUE (CRESSWELL) HARRIS
PEGGY SUE HARRIS OF FESTUS, MISSOURI WAS BORN SUNDAY, JULY 6, 1952 IN FARMINGTON, MISSOURI TO BERNIECE (LOWE) CRESSWELL AND JAMES R. CRESSWELL. PEGGY DEPARTED THIS LIFE SUDDENLY MONDAY, OCTOBER 13, 2003 AT THE JEFFERSON MEMORIAL MEDICAL CENTER, FESTUS, MISSOURI AT THE AGE OF FIFTY-ONE YEARS, THREE MONTHS AND SEVEN DAYS.
PEGGY WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO RONALD HARRIS NOVEMBER 3, 1972 IN POTOSI, MISSOURI.
PEGGY IS SURVIVED BY HER LOVING AND DEVOTED HUSBAND OF THIRTY- ONE YEARS, RONALD HARRIS OF FESTUS, MISSOURI; ONE SON, RONALD JOSEPH MICHAEL HARRIS OF FESTUS, MISSOURI; HER MOTHER AND FATHER, BERNIECE AND JAMES R. CRESSWELL OF POTOSI, MISSOURI; TWO SISTERS AND BROTHERS-IN-LAW, DEBRA AND KENNY DUNCAN OF CRYSTAL CITY, MISSOURI, JENNY AND KEVIN CAMP OF O'FALLON, MISSOURI; MANY COUSINS, NIECES, NEPHEWS AND OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS.
PEGGY WAS A MEMBER OF THE POTOSI UNITED METHODIST CHURCH WHEN SHE LIVED IN THE POTOSI AREA. SHE HAD RECEIVED RECOGNITION FOR SINGING MELODY IN THE CHOIR FOR TWO YEARS AND WAS PRESIDENT OF HER SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS 1964 TO 1965.
PEGGY WAS A 1970 GRADUATE OF THE POTOSI SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL, POTOSI, MISSOURI. SHE THEN ATTENDED MINERAL AREA COLLEGE, FLAT RIVER, MISSOURI AND LATER GRADUATED FROM THE LPN PROGRAM AT MINERAL AREA COLLEGE AND OBTAINED HER LICENSE AS A PRACTICAL NURSE.
IN HER YOUNGER YEARS SHE WAS VERY ACTIVE WITH THE JOLLY MIXERS 4- H PROGRAM IN POTOSI. PEGGY HAD ACHIEVED MANY RIBBONS AND OTHER PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS FROM THE 4-H. SHE SHOWED THE GRAND CHAMPION STEER IN 1964, A BLUE RIBBON STEER IN 1965 AND SHOWED MANY OF HER HAND MADE ITEMS AT THE FAIR. SHE HAD WON MANY RED AND BLUE RIBBONS AT THE LOCAL AND DISTRICT LEVEL. PEGGY WAS VERY INVOLVED WITH ALL THE ACTIVITIES.
PEGGY HAD A GREAT LOVE FOR LIFE AND THE PEOPLE IN HER LIFE, SHE LOVED CARING FOR EVERYONE AT THEIR RESIDENTIAL CARE HOME. SHE EXTENDED HER LOVE TO THEM JUST AS THEY WERE HER REAL FAMILY. PEGGY WAS AN AVID DOLL COLLECTOR AND ENJOYED SHOWING OFF HER COLLECTION TO EVERYONE THAT VISITED. SHE ENJOYED HER PUPPIES AND MADE SURE EACH GOT EQUAL SPOILING FROM HER.
VISITATION WAS HELD TUESDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2003 FROM 5:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AND WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2003 FROM 9:00 A.M. TO 11:00 A.M. AT THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI, MISSOURI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2003 AT 11:00 A.M. AT THE MOORE MEMORIAL CHAPEL WITH DR. MICHAEL A. COLEMAN OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN THE PLEASANT HILL CEMETERY. SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE KENNY DUNCAN, KEVIN CAMP, STEPHEN CAMP, LINDELL COLEMAN, NATHAN COLEMAN, MICHAEL HARRIS AND MIKE ROBART.
SERVICES WERE ENTRUSTED TO THE CARE AND DIRECTION OF THE MOORE FUNERAL HOMES, POTOSI, MISSOURI.
