NETTIE D. HEIFNER
NETTIE DAPHYNE HEIFNER OF OLD MINES, MISSOURI WAS BORN WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 30, 1916 IN OLD MINES, MISSOURI. NETTIE WAS THE DAUGHTER OF THE LATE MARY ELISSIA (SCHUTTE) BOYER AND ISADORE FRANCIS "ZEDOR" BOYER. NETTIE WAS FORTIFIED WITH THE SACRAMENTS OF THE HOLY MOTHER CHURCH SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2003 AT THE POTOSI MANOR CARE CENTER AT THE AGE OF EIGHTY- SEVEN YEARS AND TWENTY-NINE DAYS.
NETTIE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO ELLIOTT BERNARD "TOOTS" PRICE WHO PRECEDED HER IN DEATH IN 1957 AND TO LATE DELBERT VERNON HEIFNER.
NETTIE IS SURVIVED BY A LARGE LOVING AND DEVOTED FAMILY, FOUR DAUGHTERS, ALICE PORTELL AND HUSBAND BOB OF CADET, MISSOURI, MARY LOU COLEMAN AND HUSBAND JIM OF CADET, MISSOURI, TERRY MAXWELL AND HUSBAND KENNY OF CADET, MISSOURI, BARBARA BOYER AND HUSBAND DANNY OF CADET, MISSOURI; ONE STEP DAUGHTER MARCELLA SHEPPARD AND HUSBAND JIM OF POTOSI, MISSOURI; ONE SON BENNY M. PRICE AND WIFE GLORIA OF CADET, MISSOURI; TWO STEP SONS WILLIAM HEIFNER AND WIFE JANICE OF CADET, MISSOURI, JAMES C. HEIFNER OF MODESTO, CALIFORNIA; TWO SISTERS MYRTLE RUSSELL OF ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI AND DOROTHY CHARBONEAU OF POTOSI, MISSOURI; THREE BROTHERS HAROLD BOYER OF CADET, MISSOURI, LEONARD BOYER AND WIFE GOLDIE OF CADET, MISSOURI AND ORVILLE BOYER OF UNION, MISSOURI; TWENTY-FIVE GRANDCHILDREN; THIRTY-ONE GREAT GRANDCHILDREN; ONE GREAT GREAT GRANDCHILD; ONE DAUGHTER- IN-LAW BARBARA SUE PRICE OF ST. CLAIR, MISSOURI; SPECIAL SISTER- IN-LAW MYRNA BOYER OF CADET, MISSOURI AND BY MANY OTHER RELATIVES AND DEAR FRIENDS. IN ADDITION TO HER PARENTS AND HUSBANDS, NETTIE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY ONE DAUGHTER CAROL SUE PRICE; ONE SON JOHN D. PRICE; TWO SISTERS MARY HELEN SAUNDERS AND BLANCHE ANN HEIFNER; ONE BROTHER GLEN BOYER; THREE GRANDCHILDREN JO BETH PRICE, BRIAN SCOTT SHEPPARD AND DAVID PRICE; A SPECIAL NIECE VERONICA HANSON.
NETTIE WAS A LONG TIME PARISHIONER OF THE ST. JOACHIM CATHOLIC CHURCH, OLD MINES, MISSOURI.
NETTIE LOVED THE MANY GIFTS OF MOTHER NATURE AND LOVED TO SEE THE RED BIRDS COME, AS THIS MEANT SOMETHING GOOD WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. SHE ENJOYED PLAYING YAHTZEE AND BINGO. NETTIE WAS VERY ACTIVE WITH HER HANDS AND ENJOYED CROCHETING AND ALL TYPES OF HAND WORK. NETTIE WAS ALWAYS WILLING AND READY TO COOK A MEAL FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY. NETTIE WOULD ALWAYS GET UP WHEN THE MUSIC STARTED AND DANCE THE JIG OR SING AND OLD FAVORITE SONG. NETTIE ALWAYS HAD A JOKE READY TO GO FOR HER FAMILY AND GRANDCHILDREN WHICH STARTED THE FUN FOR THEM ALL.
NETTIE WAS A KIND AND LOVING WOMAN WITH OPEN ARMS AND THE WILLINGNESS TO LISTEN TO HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS, LIFE WAS VERY PRECIOUS TO HER AND SHE LOVED THE TIME SPENT HERE WITH ALL.
VISITATION WAS HELD TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30, 2003 FROM 5:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AND WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2003 FROM 8:30 A.M. TO 11:00 A.M. AT THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI, MISSOURI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2003 AT THE MOORE MEMORIAL CHAPEL WITH MONSIGNOR JAMES HANSON AND FATHER TED PIEPER OFFICIATING. MUSICAL SELECTIONS PLAYED AT THE SERVICE WERE "TO WHERE YOU ARE", "I CAN ONLY IMAGINE" AND "LITTLE BROWN CHURCH IN THE WILDWOOD".
BURIAL WAS IN THE ST. JOACHIM CATHOLIC CHURCH CEMETERY, OLD MINES, MISSOURI. SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE BOBBY PORTELL, JR., BRYAN MAXWELL, BERNARD PRICE, JOHN PRICE, KHRIS BOYER AND KURT WIDEMAN. HONORARY PALLBEARERS WERE MARK PORTELL, MIKE PORTELL, NICK MAXWELL AND MICHAEL HEIFNER.
SERVICES WERE ENTRUSTED TO THE CARE AND DIRECTION OF THE MOORE FUNERAL HOMES, POTOSI, MISSOURI.
