Juanita Helms-Durham

Juanita Helms-Durham of Potosi, Missouri was born on Friday, February 5, 1932 in Frankclay, Missouri a daughter of the late, Anna Marie (Glore) Barton and Radis Adolph Barton. Juanita departed this life on Friday, July 12, 2013 having reached the age of eighty-one years, five months and seven days.
Juanita was united in marriage to James “Red” Helms on October 7, 1950 and after his death on December 17, 1993 she later married Robert “Bob” Durham on March 6, 2003.
Juanita is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Durham of Potosi, Missouri; two daughters, Nedra Kay Sitzes and fiancé, Paul Villmer of Potosi, Missouri, Angela Sue Coffman and husband, Denny Ray of Desloge, Missouri; two sons, Keith Edward Helms and wife, Robin of Rockford, Illinois, Kelly Gale Helms and wife, Karen of Great Falls, Montana; one sister, Veronica Miller of Irving, Texas; one brother, Leroy Barton and wife, Alice of Leadwood, Missouri; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; also surviving are other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her first husband, James “Red” Helms, four sisters, Patsy Miller, Zella Mae Brady, Clara Pyatt, Beverly Heady, three brothers, Leon Myers, Carlos Barton and Carrol Barton.
Juanita enjoyed dancing at Sayers Senior Center on Saturday nights, playing bingo, cards and games. Juanita was Past President of the Potosi Lions Club Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the 12 O’Leer Club for thirty years. She was a very active supporter of the American Legion Post #265. Juanita enjoyed babysitting for many years and spending time with family and friends watching ballgames. In her younger years Juanita loved to go fishing and camping. She was a very kindhearted and special woman who will be forever loved and dearly missed.
Visitation was held Sunday, July 14, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Monday, July 15, 2013 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Monday, July 15, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Brother Leonard Compton officiating.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Redbud Memorial Gardens, Potosi, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Garrett Coffman, Jamie Sitzes, Trevor Sitzes, Jason Richards, Ryan Helms and Kelly Helms.
Moore Funeral Homes was Honored to be selected to guide and direct the services for Mrs. Durham-Helms.
