Nancy Sue Higginbotham
Nancy Higginbotham of Potosi, Missouri was born on June 26, 1944 in Wheelersburg, Ohio, and departed this life on April 25, 2006 at the Jefferson Memorial Hospital, having reached the age of sixty-one years, nine months, and thirty days.
Nancy is survived by her husband, John Higginbotham of Potosi, Missouri; son, Timothy Higginbotham of Potosi, Missouri; mother, Marjorie Emma Braden of Wheelersburg, Ohio; sister, Martha Sanford of Wheelersburg, Ohio; two brothers, Stanley Braden, Jr., of Columbus, Ohio, and Robert Braden and wife Nita of Wheelersburg, Ohio. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Lee Braden.
Nancy had a great love and dedication to the Potosi Fire Protection District and all of its volunteers, officers and board. She was there to help in the fire house with whatever needed done and for support to all of the men and women. She greatly enjoyed the many Bar-B-Ques, dinners and late night card games. Prior to her retirement, due to her illness, Nancy worked at the Potosi Abstract office and then was owner/operator of several joint trailers and with the G & H Amusement Company in the carnival circuit. Nancy and her family greatly enjoyed traveling all over Missouri, Arkansas and other parts of the mid-west with the carnival companies.
Nancy had a great love for music, books and watching television. She greatly enjoyed visiting with her family and many friends. She always looked forward to her trips to Ohio with her son Tim to see her family. Everyone who had the privilege of knowing Nancy, will share in our loss of her from this life, but can always remember her friendly wit, her charm and the tremendous strength she displayed throughout her life.
Visitation was held Friday, April 28, 2006 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, April 29, 2006 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Bill Warren officiating. Serving as Pallbearers were Harvey Price, Jerry Finley, Wayne Bourbon, Randy Elliott, Roger LaChance and Bucky Hawkins.
Burial took place in the New Masonic Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
