Joan Lois Hochstatter
Joan Hochstatter of Old Mines, Missouri was born on June 9, 1941 in Tiff, Missouri a daughter of the late, Cecelia Boyer and Leo Boyer. Joan departed this life on October 14, 2008 at her residence having reached the age of sixty-seven years, four months and five days.
Joan was united in marriage to Bob Hochstatter on March 1, 1958 in Old Mines, Missouri and were blessed with three children.
Joan is survived by her loving husband, Bob Hochstatter of Old Mines, Missouri; two daughters, Judy Ann Pendergrass and husband, David of Stoutland, Missouri, Cheryl Lynn Hochstatter of Mineral Point, Missouri; one son, David Leon Hochstatter and wife, Tammy of Potosi, Missouri; three sisters, Annette Goff of Cadet, Missouri, Betty Thebeau of Cadet, Missouri, Linda Kincaid and husband, Gary of Cadet, Missouri; two brothers, Kenny Boyer and wife, Sharon of Cadet, Missouri, Wayne Boyer and wife, Joyce of Cadet, Missouri; six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by one brother, Vincent Boyer.
Joan was a member of the St. Joachim Catholic Church where she enjoyed going to Mass and was very fond of Father Ted Pieper and his visits. She was a wonderful cook with biscuits being her specialty and loved family gatherings when she could cook for everyone. Joan was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed watching the games on television. She also enjoyed quilting, sewing and growing flowers. Joan was a very kindhearted woman who will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation was held Thursday, October 16, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday, October 17, 2008 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, October 17, 2008 at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Reverend Joe Welschmeyer officiating.
Final prayers and burial took place in the Redbud Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. Honoring the Life of Joan and serving as Pallbearers were Jerry Heeter, Kyle Crippen, Adam Reed, Jason Portell, Anthony Hochstatter and Terry “Porky” Revelle.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funereal Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
