CLEO JANE HODKINS
CLEO JANE HODKINS OF POTOSI, MISSOURI, WAS BORN AUGUST 4, 1905, IN STEELVILLE, MISSOURI, A DAUGHER OF THE LATE PHILLIP DOUGLAS AND MARGARET JANE (SAUNDERS) BLOUNT. CLEO DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT WASHINGTON COUNTY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL ON AUGUST 18, 2000, HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF NINETY-FIVE YEARS AND FOURTEEN DAYS.
CLEO WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO CHARLES BOVERI ON SEPTEMBER 7, 1929, CHARLES PRECEDED HER IN DEATH ON AUGUST 15, 1953. SHE WAS THEN UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO ROBERT HODKINS ON JUNE 11, 1955, ROBERT PRECEDED HER IN DEATH ON FEBRUARY 5, 1982.
CLEO IS SURVIVED BY ONE BROTHER, EDWIN "MUTT" BLOUNT OF POTOSI, ONE SISTER, OLLIE WIGGER OF VIBURNUM AND BY MANY NIECES, NEPHEWS, OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. CLEO WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY THREE SISTERS, EDNA DULANY, GRACE DICUS AND ELLA A. COLEMAN, BY THREE BROTHERS, GILBERT C. BLOUNT, FRANKLIN T. BLOUNT AND MILTON D. BLOUNT.
CLEO WAS A DEVOTED AND LONGTIME MEMBER OF THE CALEDONIA UNITED METHODIST CHURCH. SHE WAS A LONGTIME MEMBER OF THE TYRO LODGE ORDER OF EASTERN STAR AND ENJOYED GOING TO HER MANY CLUB MEETINGS. SHE LOVED TO SPEND TIME IN THE OUTDOORS AND ENJOYED THE MANY GIFTS OF MOTHER NATURE. DURING HER RELAXING TIME SHE ENJOYED READING A BOOK OR WATCHING THE SOAPS ON TELEVISION. PRIOR TO HER RETIREMENT CLEO WAS EMPLOYED AT SOUTH WESTERN BELL TELEPHONE AS AN OPERATOR.
CLEO HAD A GREAT LOVE FOR BOTH FAMILY AND FRIENDS, SHE ALWAYS HAD TIME TO LISTEN AND GIVE GENTLE ADVICE.
VISITATION WAS HELD SATURDAY, AUGUST 19, 2000, FROM 5:30 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AT MOORE FUNERAL IN POTOSI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE CONDUCTED SUNDAY, AUGUST 20, 2000, AT 2:00 P.M. AT THE CHAPEL WITH REVEREND DALE BLOUNT OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN CALEDONIA METHODIST CEMETERY UNDER THE DIRECTION OF MOORE FUNERAL HOME.
SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE. JEFF BLOUNT, DENNIS BLOUNT, CHARLEY WIGGER, STEVE TROKEY AND DON AKLERS.
