Reverend Donald "Eddie" Horton of Belgrade, Missouri was born Tuesday, June 17, 1941 in Potosi, Missouri, he was the son of the late, Frank Horton and the late, Alice (Ramo) Horton. Donald departed this life on Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Washington County Memorial Hospital in Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of seventy-three years, five months and nineteen days.
He is survived by sons, Joseph Horton and fiancé, Sandy of Howe, Oklahoma; Donald and wife, Kathy Horton of Ellington, Missouri; Ricky Horton of Dallas, Texas; Hank O'Neail of Cadet, Missouri; Kelvin and wife, Tammy O'Neail of Cadet, Missouri; John and wife, Teresa O'Neail of Cadet, Missouri; daughters, Kathy and husband, Doyle Tawfall of Belgrade, Missouri; Janet and husband, Donnie Klavon of Mineral Point, Missouri; Alice and husband, Bill Francis of Leonardville, Kansas; Laura Browning of Saint Louis, Missouri; Shelbie and husband, Norman Wilkinson of Potosi, Missouri; Irma and husband, Jerry Creamer of Caledonia, Missouri; brothers, John Horton of Park Hills, Missouri; William "Bill" and wife, Vickie Horton of Irondale, Missouri; Dennis and wife, Betty Horton of Lowell, Arkansas; Danny and wife, Katherine Horton of Caledonia, Missouri; sisters, Margie and husband, Robert Rugh of Steelville, Missouri; Linda and husband, Elwood Thomas of Belgrade, Missouri; in-laws, Mary Ann Horton, Thelma Knapp, Darlene and husband, Charles DeClue, Virgil Boyster, Mike Boyster and companion, Rosie, Patrick and wife Linda Boyster, first wife, Barbara Ruth McGuire, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, also surviving are other relatives and many, many friends. In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita (Boyster) Horton, brothers, Jesse Horton and James Horton, sister, Shirley Darlene Horton and step-mother, Florence Horton.
Donald was ordained into the Missionary Baptist Pastoral on December 9, 1967 at the Temple Baptist Church in Belgrade, Missouri. He enjoyed going fishing, working in his garden and woodworking. Eddie loved to spend time with his family and friends who will deeply miss him.
Visitation was held 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 and Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Moore Memorial Chapel located at 105 Clark Street Potosi, Missouri 63664 with the Brother Claude Evans officiating.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in Horton Cemetery, Belgrade, Missouri. Patrick Kennedy, Eric Stricklin, Dave Carter, Jimmie Koeller, Kyle Horton, Nathan Francis, Victer Horton, Shawn Horton, Lonnie Horton, Robert Wilkinson, Gabriel Wilkinson and Scott Collinsworth.
