Harold Dale Horton, known by friends and family as “Peach Fuzz”, was born January 26, 1935 in Desloge, Missouri, a son of the late Harold Blanchard Horton and Beulah (Welch) Horton. Peach Fuzz departed this life Monday, August 30, 2021 having reached the age of 86 years, 7 months and 4 days.
On September 12, 1960, he was united in marriage to Dianne (Spier) Horton and they shared sixty wonderful years together.
Peach Fuzz is survived by his loving wife Dianne; son, Greg Horton and wife Robin of Irondale; daughter, Gina Witwer and husband Paul of St. Peters, Missouri; sisters, Joyce O’Neail and husband Gale of Irondale, Belinda McLeod of Caledonia, Karen Bowling and husband Bill of Irondale; grandchildren, Jeremiah, Whitney, Zach, Chelsea, Bridget, Bri, Sam; great grandchildren, Jake, Joe, Miah, Lane, Wyatt and Lilly. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews other relatives and dear and special friends.
In addition to his parents, Peach Fuzz was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Horton and sisters, Barbara White and Brenda McLeod
Peach Fuzz never met a stranger and lived life to its fullest. He served in the United States Army from 1953-1956 and was proud of his service to his country. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6947 in Bismarck. He loved going to flea markets and yard sales looking for good deals. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved Mother Nature and all it had to offer. It was a pleasure to know him and he will be greatly missed.
