RUTH HOWARD
RUTH HOWARD OF POTOSI, MISSOURI, WAS BORN OCTOBER 2, 1904, IN RICHWOODS, MISSOURI, A DAUGHTER OF THE LATE BAUGHER EMS AND LULA (ROSE) MURDICK. RUTH DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT WASHINGTON COUNTY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL ON SEPTEMBER 23, 1999, HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF NINETY-FOUR YEARS, ELEVEN MONTHS AND TWENTY-ONE DAYS.
RUTH WAS UNITED TO THE LATE ELMER CLEVELAND HOWARD IN MAY OF 1927, IN ST. CLAIR, MISSOURI.
RUTH IS SURVIVED BY ONE DAUGHTER, AVIS MARIE HOWARD PARKER OF POTOSI, FIFTEEN GRANDCHILDREN, TWENTY-SEVEN GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, SEVEN GREAT GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, ONE BROTHER, CLAUDE MURDICK AND WIFE ETHEL OF ST. CLAIR AND BY MANY OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. IN ADDITION TO HER PARENTS AND SPOUSE SHE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY ONE SON, DANIEL LEE (BUD) HOWARD, ONE DAUGHTER, INFANT BETTY RUTH HOWARD, ONE GRANDDAUGHTER, SON-IN-LAW, COWELL PARKER, THREE SISTERS, LORETTA TRIGG, LEOMA HATCHER, EDNA SULLIVAN, FOUR BROTHERS, PETE, JOHN, CHARLES AND CHESTER MURDICK.
RUTH WAS A LONGTIME MEMBER OF THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OF ST. CLAIR, SHE ENJOYED QUILTING AND CROCHETING NOT ONLY FOR THE CHURCH BAZAAR BUT AS GIFTS FOR BOTH FAMILY AND FRIENDS. RUTH ENJOYED MANY VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES AND MEMBERSHIPS IN THE REBEKAH LODGE OF ST. CLAIR AND THE VFW LADIES AUXILIARY WHERE SHE HAD SERVED AS TREASURER.
A KIND AND LOVING MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, SISTER AND TREASURED FRIEND WHO WILL BE SADLY MISSED AND LOVINGLY REMEMBERED BY ALL WHO KNEW HER.
VISITATION WAS HELD FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 1999, FROM 5:30 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AT MOORE FUNERAL HOME IN POTOSI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE CONDUCTED SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 1999, AT 1:00 P.M. AT THE MOORE CHAPEL WITH REVEREND STEVEN CAMPBELL OFFICIATING. SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE DOUG HOWARD, PETE PARKER, DEAN JOHNSON, MIKE STRINGER, DANNY SKAGGS, JIMMY SKAGGS, JIMMY DECLUE AND JAY D. BOYET. BURIAL WAS IN GREEN MOUND CEMETERY IN ST. CLAIR, MISSOURI UNDER THE DIRECTION OF MOORE FUNERAL HOME.
