Mabel Hurley
Mabel Hurley of Irondale, Missouri was born on Thursday, March 29, 1928 in Leadwood, Missouri a daughter of the late, Ina Mae (Markham) Sutton and Elim “Slick” Sutton. Mabel departed this life on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at the Camelot Nursing Center having reached the age of seventy-nine years, ten months and fourteen days.
Mabel was united in marriage to Robert F. Hurley on October 25, 1949 in Piggott, Arkansas and this union was blessed with five children.
Mabel is survived by two daughters, Gwen Cramp and husband, Bo of DeSoto, Missouri, Andrea Ross of Worden, Illinois; two sons, Vern Hurley and wife, Candy of Alton, Illinois, Kevin Hurley and wife, Barb of DeSoto, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Trish Hurley of Fayetteville, North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Sarah Cooper, Stephanie Baker and husband, Scott, Heather Hurley, Hollie Hurley, Josh Hurley, Hannah Hurley, Olivia Hurley, Adam Ross and Nick Ross; two great grandchildren, Mya Borden, Alyssa Baker and special niece, Debbie Iahn. In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Hurley, one son, SGM Patrick R. Hurley, three sisters, Julia, Pat and Grace, one brother, Ted.
Mabel was a people person and was always kind to anyone she met. She enjoyed fishing, photography, shopping and all sorts of candy. Mabel will be greatly missed by all of her loved ones.
Visitation was held Friday, February 15, 2008 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Irondale, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Friday, February 15, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Irondale, Missouri with Reverend Wayne Kean officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Kevin Hurley, Vern Hurley, Adam Ross, Scott Baker, Ed Hurley and Mike Iahn.
Final prayer and burial took place in the Big River Cemetery, Irondale, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 104 Oak Street, Irondale, Missouri.
