Bob Jacobsen of Cadet, Missouri was born on Friday, June 30, 1933 in Hutchison, Kansas a son of the late, Adah G. (Porter) Jacobsen and Milfred F. Jacobsen. Bob departed this life at his residence on Friday, December 7, 2007 having reached the age of seventy-four years, five months and seven days.

Bob was united in marriage to Deborah R. Portell on October 3, 1992 in Herculaneum, Missouri.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Jacobsen of Cadet, Missouri; one daughter, Alicia Bone of Independence, Missouri; five sons, Steven Jacobsen and wife, Tiffany of Fenton, Missouri, Michael “Mike” Jacobsen and wife, Joni of Mineral Point, Missouri, Zachary “Zach” Jacobsen of Potosi, Missouri, Jason Bone and wife, Mary of Hutto, Texas, Benjamin “Ben” Bone of Cadet, Missouri; one sister, Sharon Jordan and husband, Don of Gurnee, Illinois; one brother, Jim Jacobsen and wife, Carol of Smithfield, North Carolina ; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Teresa and Bob Portell of Cadet, Missouri; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert and Christine Portell of Cadet, Missouri, Donna and Pat Tallis of Cadet, Missouri, Tim Portell of Cadet, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Sarah, Luke, Noah, Billie, Isabelle, Mia and Elizabeth; also surviving are many other relatives and friends.

Bob had a great love for life and greatly enjoyed his time with family and friends. Bob had managed a restaurant and lounge in the St. Louis area for several years later owning and operating a business in the Richwoods area.

Bob’s dedication and love to help people lead him into a busy career, he served as the Washington County Juvenile Officer for many years, worked for the Washington County Sheriffs Dept. and had served in many ranks including Chief Deputy. Bob accepted a position with the State of Missouri, Dept. of Public Safety, Division of Fire Safety and retired from there on August 31, 2007, Bob had investigated in excess of 2500 fires during his tenure with the office. He became well known for his knowledge and unselfish giving to the fire community. Bob had worked with and for many local, state and federal agencies. Bob was very instrumental in the formation of the Washington County 911 system. Bob became known by many, respected by all and at the service of anyone in need.

Visitation was held Monday, December 10, 2007 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, December 11, 2007 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Fire Memorial Service was held Monday, December 10, 2007 at 8:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel.

A Funeral Mass was held Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Rodger Windle, Barry West, Leroy Spradlin, Chris Harbison, Randy Elliott, Mike Elliott, John Clifton, Jerry Cloin and honorary pallbearers: Jeff Elliott, Jerry Walker, Jerry West and Jim Holdman.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri.

Memorials may be directed to the St. Joachim School Playground.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
