Janet Catherine Govero, a beloved matriarch and devoted member of her community, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on December 14, 1945, in Ironton, Missouri, Janet's life was a testament to her unwavering love for her family and her deep-rooted faith. Janet was united in marriage to Junior Govero on April 6, 1968 and they shared 56 years together.
Janet was a loving and caring individual who centered her life on her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Junior Govero, who stood by her side through the years, embodying the bond they cherished. Janet is also survived by her two daughters, Cindy Maloney and her husband Rick, as well as Vickie Klaus and her husband Brandon. Her two sons, Jeffery Govero and his wife Joddi, and Christopher Govero and his wife Beth, continue her legacy of love and kindness.
Janet was a proud grandmother to her grandchildren: Drew, Jaidyn, Hailey, Grant, Maci, Maddie, Bella, and Avery. Each of them was a source of joy for her, and she frequently expressed how full her heart was due to their presence in her life.
As one of ten siblings, Janet shared close ties with her five sisters: Ginny Bone, Nancy Politte, Laine Portell and her husband Bill, Trish Boyer and her husband Don, and Peg Portell and her husband Ken. She is also survived by her three brothers: Tom Bone and his wife Wanda, Paul Bone and his wife Brenda, and Joe Bone and his wife Joanne. These familial relationships provided Janet with a supportive network throughout her life.
Janet's life was further enriched by her commitment to her faith as a faithful member of St. Joachim Catholic Church. She found immense joy in gardening, nurturing plants with care, and enjoying the serenity of nature as she watched the birds. Additionally, her love for the St. Louis Cardinals was a reflection of her spirited personality.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Edward Bone and Mary Catherine (Paul) Bone. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Bill Bone, Ken Bone; sister-in-law, Pat Bone; and brother-in-law, Ed Politte.
Janet's legacy is carried on through the lives she touched with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering support. Let us reflect on a life well-lived, filled with love and devotion to family and faith. Her memory will remain etched in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
