Warren Randolph Jennings
Warren Jennings of Potosi, Missouri was born on Monday, August 20, 1917 in Goodland, Missouri a son of the late, Nora (Keith) Jennings-Hibdon and Randolph Jennings. Warren departed this life on Friday, February 1, 2008 at St. Anthony’s Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri having reached the age of ninety years, five months and twelve days.
Warren was united in marriage to Mae E. Copeland and were blessed with seventy years together and to this union, four daughters were born.
Warren in survived by his loving wife, Mae Jennings of Potosi, Missouri; four daughters, Wilma Joanne Jackson and husband, Russell of St. Louis, Missouri, Patricia Gail Brito and husband, Leno of St. Louis, Missouri, Mary Lee Strauser and husband, Fred of St. Charles, Missouri, Donna Jean Koopmann of St. Peters, Missouri; one brother, Jimmie Jennings and wife, Pat of Viburnum, Missouri; nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and brother-in-law, Clarence Goggin of Arcadia, Missouri; also surviving are other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, Warren was preceded in death by his sister, Erna Conway and her husband Edgar Conway.
Warren loved his family and working on his farm near Goodland, Missouri raising cattle. He enjoyed spending time with his favorite dog, Bomber and making gardens. Warren was a member of the Temple Missionary Baptist Church, Belgrade, Missouri. During Warren’s younger years he belonged to the C.C. Camps throughout the United States including Yellowstone National Park and went on to be an ironworker for the railroad. Warren also enjoyed traveling to Branson, listening to country music and collecting string ties and belt buckles. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation was held Monday, February 4, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, February 5, 2008 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Pastor Melvin Meade and Reverend Wayne Gibson officiating. Songs provided by Warren’s church family from Temple Missionary Baptist Church were: “Amazing Grace”, “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Just Over In The Glory Land”. Honoring Warren by serving as pallbearers were: Ronald Jackson, David Jackson, Jeff Koopmann, Robert Olsen, Fred Strauser, III. and Leno Brito.
Final prayers and burial took place in the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery, Caledonia, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
