Jessie Louise Quade, a woman of unwavering faith, love, and selflessness, passed away on August 10, 2024, at the age of 97. She was born on December 10, 1926, in St. Louis, Missouri, a daughter to the late George Barr and Hazel (Schneider) Clingingsmith.
On July 22, 1944 Jessie was united in marriage to the late Curtis Quade, happily raising a family and sharing many wonderful years together. Jessie's life was a tapestry of love, kindness, and cherished memories that will forever be held dear by those who had the privilege of knowing.
Jessie had a profound love for her family, quilting, crocheting, and attending church, with Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Clair and Redeemer Lutheran Church in Potosi being important parts of her life. She found joy in telling stories from her childhood, reminiscing about days gone by filled with laughter and love.
Known for her selfless nature, Jessie always prioritized the needs of others before her own. Her loving and caring personality touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with her. Throughout her life, she embodied the values of compassion and empathy, creating a legacy of kindness that will endure through the generations.
Jessie's proudest accomplishments were raising a loving family and dedicating herself to her church, where her faith and devotion shone brightly. Her memory will be cherished for years to come as a shining example of love and faithfulness.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Thomas (Bill), Pevely, MO, Karen Love (Cecil), St. Clair, MO; sons: Curtis Quade, Jr. (Vera), Saint Clair, MO, Gary Quade, Maysville, NC, Douglas Quade (Patricia), Lonedell, MO; sisters: Patsy Abernathy, Jackson, MO, Jeanette Curnell, Scotts City, MO; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 19 great great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends who were touched by her presence.
In addition to her parents and step father, Raymond Clingingsmith, Jessie was predeceased by her brother Donald Clingingsmith; sister, Hazel Seabaugh; daughter-in-law, Juanita Quade; brothers-in-law, Leroy Abernathy, and Harold Curnell.
In the quiet moments when we think of Jessie, may we remember her gentle spirit, unwavering love, and the immeasurable impact she had on those around her. Jessie's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to have known her, carrying forward the light of her love and kindness for generations to come.
