Lindell “Barney” Johnson of Tiff, Missouri was born on Saturday, July 13, 1940 in Tiff, Missouri a son of the late, Martha Beulah (Cain) Johnson and Joseph Nary Johnson. Lindell departed this life on Monday, August 20, 2012 having reached the age of seventy-two years, one month and seven days.
“Barney” is survived by three sisters, Jeanette Hamlin of House Springs, Missouri, Martha Schaefferkoetter and husband, Benny of High Ridge, Missouri, Mary Wicker and husband, Larry of Old Mines, Missouri; two brothers, Donald Johnson and wife, Sarah of Robertsville, Missouri, James Ronald “Whitie” Johnson of Tiff, Missouri; his pet cockatiel, Lou; special caregiver, Kalua Kean; dear and close niece, Cheryl Nickelson, special great-nephew, Seth Pinson who “Barney” considered as close as a son; also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, “Barney” was preceded in death by one infant sister, Virginia Ann Johnson; nine brothers, Michael Johnson, Mitchell Johnson, Samuel “Bo” Johnson, Roger Johnson, Daniel “Mac” Johnson, Joseph “Moot” Johnson, Richard “Dickie” Johnson, Wayne “Buck” Johnson and Randall “T.Boy” Johnson.
“Barney” loved the Lord and was a “Prayer Warrior” for people to receive the Holy Spirit. He enjoyed spending time with his family and working in his flower garden. “Barney” was always available to help anyone either family or friends. He volunteered at the Tiff Food Pantry for several years packing and delivery food to everyone who was unable to come in and pick up their food. He loved music, playing the piano and organ. “Barney” had a deep love for children and always had candy and gum for them. He always had an open door and open heart for all “Once a Friend, Always a Friend” was “Barney’s” motto.
A Memorial Service was held Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the New Life Church, DeSoto, Missouri at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Martha Schaefferkoetter officiating.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
