Kevin Jay Hampton, a beloved member of the community in Irondale, Missouri, passed away on July 1, 2023, at the age of 66. Born on February 5, 1957, in Leadwood, Missouri, Kevin had a rich and fulfilling life filled with love, family, and a range of hobbies and interests.
Known for his hardworking nature and strong family values, Kevin was a devoted father and grandfather. His proudest accomplishments were centered around his role as a loving father and grandfather to his sons, Kevin Hampton and Nathan Hampton. Kevin's sons were fortunate to have him as a role model and guide throughout their lives.
Kevin will also be remembered for his incredible woodworking skills. Many memories were made watching him carefully whittle wood into intricate shapes and designs. His craftsmanship was unparalleled, leaving behind beautiful creations that will continue to remind us of his talent. One of Kevin's favorite pastimes was horseback riding. He found great joy in spending time with his loved ones while exploring the outdoors on horseback. The bond between Kevin and horses was truly special and created cherished memories for all who knew him. Additionally, he had a passion for pitching horseshoes and spent countless hours perfecting his technique. Another passion of Kevin's was hunting and fishing. He possessed an innate connection with nature that made these activities not just hobbies but significant parts of his life. Camping trips provided opportunities for him to unwind and enjoy the simplicity of the natural world. In addition to being an outdoorsman, Kevin had a musical side. Playing music with his friends and family brought him immense happiness. He found solace in expressing himself through music.
Surviving family members include his sons, Kevin Hampton and wife Ashley, Nathan Hampton and wife Mandy; daughter, Bobbi Leasor and husband Ron; sisters, Rebecca Turner, and Medina Hickman; brothers, Randy Hampton and wife Sherry, Tony Hampton and wife Brenda; sister-in-law, Pam Hampton; grandchildren. Wyatt, Alexis, Ryan, Teagan, Karsyn, Anna, and Sadie. Their lives were significantly enriched by the love and wisdom he shared with them. In addition to his immediate family members, Kevin is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who were fortunate enough to know him. His warm spirit and genuine kindness touched the lives of all who crossed paths with him.
Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma June (Horton) Hampton, his father, Ernest Nelson Hampton, and his brothers Ronnie Hampton and Ernest Hampton Jr. He leaves behind a large and loving family to cherish his memory.
Kevin will forever be cherished in our hearts as a hardworking individual who valued his family above all else. May we remember him fondly for his immense love for others and the joy he brought into our lives.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kevin's family.
