Jessie James Lampkey
Jessie James Lampkey of rural Potosi, Missouri departed this life on Thursday, August 31, 2006 at Georgian Gardens Nursing Home in Potosi, Missouri at the age of sixty-six years, four months and twenty-three days. He was born on April 8, 1940 in Kingston, Missouri to the late Louis Lampkey and the late Rosie Elizabeth (Stroupe) Lampkey.
Jessie is survived by six sisters, Betty, Edna, Dorothy, Lola, Bessie, and Dollie; three brothers, Donnie, Jake, and William, also surviving are numerous friends and family. Jessie was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Andrew and Jerry, and one sister, Judy.
Jessie made his home with the Brakefield Family for many years. He professed his faith in Christ and was baptized. Jessie enjoyed helping on the farm taking care of the cattle and goats. He loved to enjoy Mother Nature and her many gifts. Jessie also enjoyed listening to country and western music.
Visitation was held Saturday, September 2, 2006 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Saturday, September 2, 2006 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Elder Leonard Compton officiating.
Final prayers and burial took place in the Horine Cemetery, Richwoods, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
