Catherine Lowe of Cadet, Missouri was born on Tuesday, January 3, 1933 in Old Mines, Missouri to the late, Alice (Boyer) Battreal and Lewis Battreal. Catherine departed this life on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City, Missouri having reached the age of seventy-eight years, one month and twenty-three days.
Catherine was united in marriage to Jerry Lowe on December 9, 1950 in Pocahontas, Arkansas and this union was blessed with five children.
Catherine is survived by one daughter, Elaine Wilson and husband, Tom of Hillsboro, Missouri; four sons, James Ronald Lowe and wife, Marsha of Flowery Branch, Georgia, Gerald Rick Lowe of Atlanta, Georgia, Ralph Wayne Lowe and wife, Ronda of Branson, Missouri, George Stephen Lowe and wife, Marla of Atlanta, Georgia; one sister, Juanita “Pete” Grace and husband, Ed of Massachusetts; eleven grandchildren, Scott, April, Laura, Melissa, Jeremy, Amy, Jenny, Jessica, Amanda, Alexis, Matthew; nine great-grandchildren; also surviving are other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lowe on March 29, 2006, one great-grandson, Jack Lowe, two sisters, Hannah Ferrell, Lena Ferrell, four brothers, Ralph Battreal, Dan Battreal, Joe Battreal and Roscoe Battreal.
Catherine was a parishioner of the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Catherine enjoyed playing cards, working in her garden and watching all the beautiful birds. She will forever be remembered for the loved she shared.
Visitation was held Monday, February 28, 2011 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, March 1, 2011 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Ron Lowe, George Lowe, Ralph Lowe, Rick Lowe, Eric Milan, Justin Hays and Jeremy Lowe.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
