Walter Edgar “Buck” Mackley
Walter “Buck” Mackley of Mineral Point, Missouri was born on Tuesday, October 31, 1944 in Knob Lick, Missouri a son of the late, Jewel (Ervin) Mackley and Roy E. Mackley. Walter departed this life at the St. Louis University Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri having reached the age of sixty-four years, eleven months and twenty-nine days.
Walter is survived by four daughters, Cheryl Berkbuegler and husband, William of Chamois, Missouri, Monica Mackley and fiancé, Jeremy Boyer of Potosi, Missouri, Megan Mackley of Mineral Point, Missouri, Holly Mackley of Potosi, Missouri; six sons, Walter E. “Wally” Mackley and wife, Judy of Cuba, Missouri, Brian Mackley of Cuba, Missouri, Walter E. “Rowdy” Mackley, Jr. and wife, Tabitha of Salem, Missouri, Timmy Tull and wife, Diana of Saint Genevieve, Missouri, Rusty Mackley and wife, Danielle of Mineral Point, Missouri, Kevin Mackley of Mineral Point, Missouri; two sisters, Mary Lee McEntire and husband, Gary of Farmington, Missouri, Shirley Barton of Abilene, Texas; one brother, Melvin Mackley of Mineral Point, Missouri; seventeen grandchildren, former wife, Sharon (Witt) Mackley of Mineral Point, Missouri; also surviving are other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by one son, Tommy Mackley, one sister, Sherry Mackley, three brothers, Charles Mackley, James Mackley and Vernon Mackley.
Walter enjoyed traveling with his kids and spending time with his family. His favorite pastimes were watching John Wayne movies and fishing in the great outdoors. “Buck” as many knew him will be greatly missed by his many family and friends and many more.
Visitation was held Tuesday, November 3, 2009 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Kent Sanders officiating. Honoring Walter by serving as pallbearers were Rusty L. Mackley, Kevin Edgar Mackley, Billy J. Berkbuegler, Walter Edgar Mackley, Jr., Danny Ward, Brian Mackley, Eddie Mackley, Gerald Reed and Jeremy Boyer.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the New Masonic Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
