Nellie Mallow
Nellie Mallow of Potosi, Missouri was born on Thursday, February 22, 1911 in Palmer, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late Ida B. (Wilkinson) Scott and Gord Scott. Nellie departed this life on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at her residence having reached the age of ninety-five years, six months and twenty-eight days.
Nellie was united in marriage to Henry Mallow on August 27, 1927 in Belgrade, Missouri and this union was blessed with two children.
Nellie is survived by one son, Henry Lee Mallow, Jr. of Herrin, Illinois; three grandchildren, Jerry Richards and wife Carla of Potosi, Missouri; Henry L. “Dusty” Mallow III and wife Ruby of Herrin, Illinois; and Dana Dee Zahraee and husband Ali of Chicago, Illinois; seven great grandchildren, Mallory, Jennifer, Traci, David, Austin, Kevin, and Justin. Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Henry Mallow, daughter, Norma Richards and brother, Glen Scott.
Nellie enjoyed helping on the farm with the cattle and gardening. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and going to all of their activities. She enjoyed traveling through the country vacationing and seeing all the different sites. Nellie liked to read and listen to the birds, especially the purple martins.
Visitation was held Friday, September 22, 2006 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, September 23, 2006 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 10:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Mike Jarvis officiating.
Final prayers and burial took place at the Palmer Cemetery, Belgrade, Missouri. Serving as Pallbearers were Jeff Richards, Bob Scott, Larry Nipper, Wayne Crump, Carl “Squire” Essmyer, Brian Scott and Oliver Crocker.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
