Dale Eugene Martin
Dale Martin of Cadet, Missouri was born on Monday, August 20, 1956 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri a son of the late, Evelyn Irene (Easley) Martin and Eugene “Pete” Martin. Dale departed this life at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of fifty-three years, seven months and nineteen days.
Dale is survived by one sister, Marilyn Portell and husband, Charlie of Cadet, Missouri; niece, Chastity Williams and husband, Michael of Cadet, Missouri; nephew, Shane Portell of Cadet, Missouri; two great nephews, Cole and Austin Williams; aunt, uncles, cousins and many special friends including: Mike Easley, Rachael Portell, Becky and Eric Boushie, Cheryl and Harold Henderson, his nurses from Hospice Care, Potosi Manor nursing staff and Dr. Tindall and staff.
Dale enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his great nephews. Watching wrestling, movies and reading the newspaper and his favorite baseball books were just a few of his pastimes. Dale collected baseball cards, coins and bobble heads. He would visit with anyone and everyone, he never knew a stranger. Dale’s greatest love was the St. Louis Cardinals he loved watching the games on T.V. and going to Busch Stadium every chance he got.
Visitation was held Friday, April 9, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, April 10, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Don Strauser officiating.
Honoring Dale by serving as pallbearers were: Mike Easley, Charlie Portell, Andy Portell, Tim Portell, Shane Portell, Mike Williams, Harold Henderson and David Portell.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Calvary Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
