Dorothy May Martin
Dorothy May (Ellis) Martin of Belgrade, Missouri passed away July 4, 2013 at the St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri having reached the age of seventy-one years, two months and twenty-two days.
Dorothy was born April 12, 1942 in Elvins, Missouri to the late Frank and Goldie (Williams) Ellis.
Dorothy Married William “Bill” Martin, Sr. on February 2, 1963 and three children were born, Billy, Ricky and Vicki.
Those who preceded her death were an infant son, Fermin Frank Ellis, half-sister, Thelma Holt and her parents Frank and Goldie Ellis.
Those who remain to remember and love her, are her husband, Bill Martin, Sr. of Belgrade. Son Billy Martin, Jr. and wife Kim of Caledonia, son Ricky Martin of Caledonia and daughter Vicki Lawson of Farmington. Seven grandchildren: Kayme (Martin) Portell and husband Kevin of Caledonia, Karey (Martin) Civey and husband Jordan of Caledonia, Kody Martin and wife Jessica of Farmington, Christine Martin of Marshall, Tiffany Martin of Caledonia, Chelsey Martin of Bonne Terre and Cassandra Yount of Farmington. Six great-grandchildren: Kalley and Kassidy Portell, Kyndra Gormley and Jax Civey, Blain and Camille Patterson. Two brothers Franklin Ellis of Farmington and William Ellis of Potosi. Also surviving are many nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family at their get-togethers especially on the 4th of July watching fireworks. She had a large Betty Boop collection and enjoyed watching WWE Wrestling, Cardinals baseball, Judge Judy and all court shows on television. Dorothy loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending all their activities. She also enjoyed going camping, traveling all over and being with her friends. Dorothy was a very loving woman who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation was held Saturday, July 6, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Sunday, July 7, 2013 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Sunday, July 7, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Pastor Jim Wade officiating.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery, Caledonia, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Kody Martin, Kevin Portell, Jordan Civey, Jake Danilly, Norman Payne, Jr. and Zach Halbert.
