Helen Masson
Helen Masson of Mineral Point, Missouri was born on Tuesday, July 7, 1914 in Paragould, Arkansas a daughter of the late, Claudia A. (Thomas) White and Archie C. White. Helen departed this life on Monday, May 28, 2007 at the Georgian Gardens Nursing Home, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of ninety-two years, ten months and twenty-one days.
Helen was united in marriage to Lytle Lee Masson on February 16, 1933 in Potosi, Missouri.
Helen is survived by three daughters, Ethel Ann Boucher and husband James of Selmer, Tennessee, Nina Joyce Smith and husband Don of Mineral Point, Missouri, Robin Gayle Portell and husband Vincent of Cadet, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Mark, Lisa, Debbie, Tammy, Jeff, Micheal, Patrick and Christopher; nine great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren; step-granddaughter, Stephanie; sister-in-law, Alpha Fuller of Belton, Missouri; brother-in-law, Jerry Daffer of Kansas City, Missouri and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Lytle Lee Masson, one daughter, Helen Virginia Masson, one son, Archie Lee Masson, three sisters, Mildred, Edith and Rosie Mae, one brother Buster and one grandchild, Lydia Masson.
Helen was a longtime member of the Mineral Point United Methodist Church, since the early 1940’s. She enjoyed traveling all over the United States, especially trips to Branson to see all the music shows and Silver Dollar City. Helen loved having family picnics and gatherings. She also enjoyed crocheting, quilting, gardening and watching America’s Funniest Home Videos. Helen loved her puppy, Cricket and her cat, Tommy. She will be very deeply missed by her family and friends.
Visitation was held Wednesday, May 30, 2007 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Thursday, May 31, 2007 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Thursday, May 31, 2007 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Jerry Compton officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Bobby Portell, Jeff Masson, Mike Portell, Pat Portell, Mark Hacker, Chris Portell and Kyle Portell.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
