Lee Masson
Lytle Lee Masson of Mineral Point, Missouri was born Monday, February 27, 1911 in Mineral Point, Missouri a son of the late Ethel Jane (Hansel) Masson and Lydle Masson. Lee departed this life Friday, July 23, 2004 at the Georgian Garden Nursing Center at the age of Ninety-three Years, Four Months and Twenty-four Days.
Lee was united in marriage to Helen L. White February 16, 1933 in Potosi, Missouri. They were blessed to have Seventy-one years of joy together. Life’s pathway provide them many challenges and many changes and they accepted them and made the best of every day together.
Lee is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Helen Masson of Mineral Point, Missouri; Three daughters, Ethel Ann Boucher and husband James of Selmer, Tennessee, Nina Joyce Smith and husband Don of Mineral Point, Missouri, Robin Gayle Portell and husband Vincent of Cadet, Missouri; One son, Archie Lee Masson of Park Hills, Missouri; Two sisters, Alpha Fuller of Raytown, Missouri, Edith Tamore of Dunellen, New Jersey; Nine Grandchildren, Eight Great Grandchildren, Two Great Great Grandchildren and by many other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents, Lee was also preceded in death by One daughter, Helen Virginia Masson; Four sisters, Rose Roderick, Stella Penberthy, Eva Eye and Ethel LaChance, Three brothers, John Masson, Harvey Masson and Homer Masson.
Lee was a longtime member of the Mineral Point United Methodist Church, Mineral Point, Missouri where he took great pride in his church and the church family.
Lee enjoyed working in his yard and vegetable garden. He loved to take time and travel to Branson, Missouri and visit the country music shows and look at the town sites.
Lee had a great love for his family, he enjoyed the many gatherings and the story telling of the old days. He would always have a smile when the grandchildren showed up for a visit. Lee would always have a kind word and some advice if it was needed.
Visitation was held Monday, July 26, 2004 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, July 27, 2004 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 27, 2004 at 2:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel with Dr. Michael Coleman and Dr. Don Kuhle. Special music was provided by the Mineral Point and Potosi United Methodist Church Choirs.
Final prayers and burial was in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. Serving as Pallbearers were Chris Portell, Jeff Masson, Mike Portell, Pat Portell, Mark Hacker and Jordan Masson.
Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
