Dorothy Clara McCarron of Potosi, Missouri formerly of Irondale, Missouri was born in Irondale, Missouri on March 19, 1916. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Mabel (Allen) Ashbaugh. Dorothy departed this life on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital in Potosi, Missouri, having reached the age of eighty-nine years, two months, and two days.
Dorothy is survived by her sister; Lois Barron of Moberly, Missouri, brother; Elgin “Glen” Ashbaugh of Irondale, Missouri, three grandchildren; Carla, Marla and John Carlos, brother-in-law; Gerald Barron of Moberly, Missouri, sister-in-law; Betty Ashbaugh of St. Clair, Missouri, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter; Dorothy Sue McCarron, three brothers; Millard Ashbaugh, Roy Ashbaugh, Homer Ashbaugh, four sisters; Doretta Wolfe, Frances Schrieber, Lucille Ashbaugh, and Maxine Barron.
Dorothy was a member of the Irondale Assembly of God Church in Irondale, Missouri, which she loved to attend. Dorothy always went and visited her parents faithfully. She loved to cook a lot of different foods, but fish was her favorite of them all. Dorothy also enjoyed sewing in her younger years. Dorothy will always be remembered for the love she had for everyone in her life.
Visitation was held Monday, May 23, 2005 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, May 24, 2005 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home in Irondale, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel in Irondale, Missouri, with Rev. Elbert Masson and Rev. Roy Reed officiating.
Burial took place Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at the Big River Cemetery, Irondale, Missouri.
Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 104 Oak Street, Irondale, Missouri.
