Leota McGill
Leota McGill of Kennett, Missouri was born on Tuesday, February 28, 1939 in Malden, Missouri to the late, Matti (Russell) Cavashere and Ed James. Leota departed this life on Monday, May 11, 2009 at the Missouri Baptist Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri having reached the age of seventy years, two months and thirteen days.
Leota is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Shelton of Lacey, Washington, Cathy Webb of Richwoods, Missouri; one son, David Webb of Richwoods, Missouri; six grandchildren, Jessica Danback of Richwoods, Missouri, Heather Fincher of Houston, Texas, Melissa Meade of Richwoods, Missouri, Jason Arnold of Richwoods, Missouri, Travis Arnold of Richwoods, Missouri, Candace Shelton of Lacey, Washington; two step grandchildren, Jerica Horton of Richwoods, Missouri, Felishia Horton of Richwoods, Missouri; eight great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Luke Arnold of Richwoods, Missouri; best friend, Joyce Robinson of Campbell, Missouri. Leota was preceded in death by her father, Ed James, mother and step-father, Mattie and Elmer Cavashere, two husbands, Chester Webb and Ray McGill, one daughter, Sara Arnold, two sisters, Loma Hill, Peggy Willowby and one brother, Hershel Asbille.
Leota or Grandma Peanut as she was lovingly known, enjoyed cooking all types of food especially, southern dishes. She loved to sew, making doll clothes for her daughters and her granddaughters. Leota especially loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her dogs and spending time with them. She also enjoyed watching the news, The Nancy Grace Show and Cardinals baseball on television.
A Private Memorial Service was held by the family.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
