Geneva McLeod
Geneva McLeod of Potosi, Missouri was born Sunday, October 23, 1921 in Oats, Missouri a daughter of the late Delora (Wadlow) Carlton and Sherman Carlton. Geneva departed this life Sunday, April 18, 2004 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital at the age of Eighty-two years, Five months and Twenty-six days.
Geneva was united in marriage to the late Charles “Mac” McLeod April 10, 1937 in Annapolis, Missouri.
Geneva is survived by one Son, Joe McLeod and wife Belinda of Irondale, Missouri; Twelve Grandchildren; Twenty-one Great Grandchildren; Eight Great Great Grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Brenda McLeod of Potosi, Missouri; many Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Geneva was also preceded in death by One son, Glen McLeod; One daughter, Dorothy Schrum-Gardner; Two Sisters, Nola Stroud, and Gladys Mathis; Four brothers, Claude, Floyd, Rev. Willie Carlton and an infant brother; four Grandchildren, Suzy McLeod, Jeffery Schrum, Randall Schrum and Steven Schrum; One Great Great Grandson, Devin Michael Wills.
Geneva was a long time member of the Potosi Southern Baptist Church, Potosi, Missouri.
Geneva loved to spend time with people and dedicated her life to serving them. She worked for the Brown Shoe Factory, the Family saw mill, the Washington County Hospital, the Housing Authority, and the Elementary School. Geneva retired from the Potosi Wal-Mart store, where many people will remember her, by her pleasant smile, kind words and friendly assistance toward everyone. Geneva always looked forward to spending time with her family and was always ready to help them or anyone else in need.
Visitation was held Tuesday, April 20, 2004 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri and Wednesday, April 21, 2004 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Potosi Southern Baptist Church, Potosi, Missouri.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at 11:00 AM at the Potosi Southern Baptist Church, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Ervin Harris officiating.
Final prayers and Burial was at the Red Bud Memorial Garden Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri at 12:15 PM on April 21, 2004.
Following the services the family and friends returned to the Potosi Southern Baptist Church where a luncheon was provided by the Church family.
Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
