Sharon Elizabeth McMahan of Park Hills, Missouri was born Wednesday, March 10, 1954 at Mount Olive, Illinois, a daughter of the Lawrence Casey Sampson and the late Delores Lorraine (Stewart) Sampson. Sharon departed this life Friday, May 14, 2004 at the Mineral Area Medical Center, Farmington, Missouri surrounded by the love of her family. Sharon was Fifty Years, Two Months and Four Days of age at the time of her death.
Sharon was united in marriage to Lynn Charles McMahan June 14, 1976 and they were blessed to have four children born to the union. Lynn preceded his wife in death on May 5, 1988.
Sharon is survived by her loving and devoted children, two daughters, Lori Beth McMahan of Farmington, Missouri, Sarah Ann McMahan of Park Hills, Missouri; two sons, Timothy Lynn McMahan of Park Hills, Missouri, James Michael McMahan of Park Hills, Missouri; one grand daughter, Destany Dawn McMahan of Park Hills, Missouri; father, Lawrence Sampson of Potosi, Missouri; two brothers, Timothy John Sampson and wife Barb of Bismarck, Missouri, Michael James Sampson of Farmington, Missouri; very dear and special friends, Debbie Werley, Sarah Werley, Cindy Morris, Patsy Callahan, Annie Barger, Evelyn Boyer, Clarence Odle and Pauline Dickerson and by many other relatives and friends.
Sharon had accepted Christ as her savior and was a member of the Parkland Family Worship Center, Farmington, Missouri.
Sharon loved her family with all of her heart, she enjoyed the time spent with her granddaughter, Destany McMahan and many other children that were like her own. She enjoyed going to church, reading the Bible and singing in Church.
Sharon enjoyed relaxing to play a game of rummy and many other card games. Sharon had a great and open heart and loved to be of help to anyone who needed her assistance.
Visitation was held Tuesday, May 18, 2004 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Wednesday, May 19, 2004 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel with Reverend Blanche Sowell officiating. Musical selections played were “Almost Home”, “Concrete Angel” and “Amazing Grace”.
Final prayers and burial was at the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri. Serving as Pallbearers were Timothy McMahan, James McMahan, John McCoy, Mark Werley, Steve Sandland and Mark Murray.
Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
