Anita Fyrn Means
Anita Means of Potosi, Missouri was born on September 10, 1919 in Crocker, Missouri a daughter of the late, Vannie M. (Wilkes) Hendricks and Peter Edward Hendricks. Anita departed this life on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Crystal City, Missouri having reached the age of ninety-years, eleven months and two days.
Anita’s best friend, Irene introduced her brother, Melvin to Anita when she was fourteen years old; they were later united in marriage on October 30, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Anita is survived by one niece, Diana Bush of Boynton Beach, Florida; one nephew, Melvin Hedberg of Otsego, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Yvonne Hendricks, of Boca Raton, Florida; one Godson, Jason Robart of Bonne Terre, Missouri; other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, Anita was preceded in death by her loving husband, Melvin Means and one brother, Howard C. Hendricks.
Anita was saved at the age of fourteen at Chatham Bible Chapel in Wellston, Missouri. She and Melvin bought forty acres of land on north 21 by the railroad tracks; Mel then built a house, cabin and lake where they lived for forty-two years. Anita was the co-owner and a broker for United Farm Realty for several years. She enjoyed working on the farm and gardening. Anita loved her husband and all the times they had together. She was a kind and generous woman who will be greatly remembered by all.
Visitation was held Monday, August 16, 2010 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Monday, August 16, 2010 at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri at 12:00 PM with Reverend Bruce Pittman officiating. Honoring Anita by serving as pallbearers were, J. Paul Tindall, Jason Robart, Chris Robart, Ian Hedberg, Mike Robart and Gary McIntyre.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in Redbud Memorial Gardens, Potosi, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
