Nora L. Miller
Nora L. Miller of Belgrade, Missouri was born Tuesday, May 27, 1919 in Richwoods, Missouri a daughter of the late Julia (Coleman) Hayes and Patrick Hayes. Nora departed this life at her home surrounded by the love of her family on Saturday, August 7, 2004 at the age of Eighty-five years, Two months and Eleven days.
Nora was united in marriage to Winfred N. Miller on April 22, 1939 in Richwoods, Missouri. They were blessed to have three children born to the union. Mr. Miller preceded his wife in death on April 21, 1999.
Nora is survived by one daughter, Patricia E. Yount and husband Gary L. of Belgrade, Missouri; one son, Norman Miller and wife Karen of Saint Louis, Missouri; one brother, Robert Hayes and wife Mary Lou of Washington, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, Dwayne, Chris, Wray, Robert, Timothy, Michael, Theodore, Robert, Angel, Greg and Ryan; eight great grandchildren, Lucas, Katie, Emily, Haley, Zachary, Benjamin, Madison and Mackenzie; one brother-in-law, Marion Johnson of Washington, Missouri; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Nora was also preceded in death by one son, Robert L. Miller; one brother, Louis Hayes; two sisters, Ellen Luehr and Bertha Johnson.
Nora was a member of the St. John’s Catholic Church in Bismarck, Missouri.
Nora loved to spend time working on the farm, she never failed to get out and help her husband with any of the jobs. She enjoyed landscaping and flower gardening and loved to spend the evenings relaxing in the yard to look at the flowers and the view of the farm. Nora was very involved in the dairy farm business with her husband from 1951 to 1981. Nora would always be ready to cook a meal or a special treat to take to someone in need or for the one that stopped in for a visit. Nora always enjoyed the many hours she spent with “Lizzy” her goat. She took pride in the cattle herd and supervised the care for many years. The simple pleasures of life was her joy.
Visitation was held Monday, August 9, 2004 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, August 10, 2004 from 8:30 AM to 9:15 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at 10:00 AM at the St. Stephens Catholic Church, Richwoods, Missouri with Father Robert Liss and Deacon Walter Roderick officiating.
Final prayers and Burial was in the St. Stephens Catholic Church Cemetery, Richwoods, Missouri. Serving as Pallbearers were Dwayne Miller, Wray Miller, Greg Yount, Ryan Yount, Lucas Miller and Joe Allen.
Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
