Hazel Mishleau of Potosi, Missouri was born on February 9, 1940 in Shennington, Wisconsin a daughter of the late, Ruth (Black) Carey and Delmar C. Carey. Hazel departed this life on Monday, February 6, 2012 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of seventy-one years, eleven months and twenty-eight days.
Hazel was united in marriage to Phillip Jerald “Jerry” Mishleau on March 14, 1958 in Dubuque, Iowa and were blessed with five children.
Hazel is survived by her loving husband, Phillip “Jerry” Mishleau of Potosi, Missouri; three daughters, Tamara Lee Finch and husband, Randy of Neenah, Wisconsin, Audrey Portell and husband, Timothy of Potosi, Missouri, Sue Pehler and husband, Gordy of Lublin, Wisconsin; two sons, Jackson Phillip Mishleau of Potosi, Missouri, Kent Mishleau and wife, Delores of Northfield, Minnesota; one sister, Juanita Cunningham of Lovington, New Mexico; grandchildren, Larry, Tanya, Chelsey and Coy Hood, Kendra Taylor, Stacey Mishleau, Jason Mishleau, Curtis, Courtney, Luke, Jonathan, Benjamin and Elizabeth Mishleau, great-grandchildren, Quinton, Kaidyn Hood, Rey, Alazey Martinez, Deanna, Kijana, Johanan, Jadon, Eliana Taylor and Petroy Lincoln, very good friends, Mary Beahm of Montello, Wisconsin, Melvin and Cecelia Bankhead of Clarksville, Arkansas; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Rojah, five brothers, Chelsey Carey, Robert Carey, Jim Carey, Jerry Carey, Harry Carey and two grandchildren, Jeremy Rey Mishleau, Dominique Marie Mishleau.
Hazel was baptized as a youth and had a very strong faith in her Lord and ensured that her children had the opportunity to learn everything about their Savior as children, as they regularly attended church. She attended the Crestview Seventh-day Adventist Church, Farmington, Missouri and had cooked at two different Adventist Academies over the years. Hazel enjoyed oil painting, painting rocks and knitting baby hats for the hospitals. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, going camping. She also enjoyed gardening, reading and taking care of her kitties. Hazel loved nature and its many gifts. She also loved bright colors especially red. Hazel will be greatly remembered for her loving and caring ways.
A Memorial Service was held Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the Crestview Seventh-day Adventist Church, Farmington, Missouri with her son Kent Mishleau and Pastor Brett Randall officiating.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
