Dixie Morgan of Potosi, Missouri was born on Wednesday, January 3, 1940 in Harrisonville, Arkansas. A daughter of the late Helen Marie (Underwood) Weston and Chester Weston. Dixie departed this life on Thursday, December 14, 2006 at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri having reached the age of sixty-six years, eleven months and eleven days.

Dixie was united in marriage to Billy Lee Morgan on May 28, 1959 in Potosi, Missouri.

Dixie is survived by one daughter, Lisa Dudley and husband “T.R.” of Potosi, Missouri; one son, Jimmy Morgan and wife Leann of Potosi, Missouri; seven sisters, Carol McClain and husband Bob of Bonne Terre, Missouri, Maggie Brown and husband Harry of Leadwood, Missouri, Carolyn Forbes and Bud of Arizona, Marilyn Politte and husband Steve of Viburnum, Missouri, Jackie Portell and husband John of Potosi, Missouri, Debbie Kline and Sid Arment of Potosi, Missouri, Angie Reese and husband Randy of Potosi, Missouri; four brothers, Bob Cox and wife Pat of DeSloge, Missouri, Mike Weston and wife Faye of Potosi, Missouri, Wayne Weston and wife Doyla of Ironton, Missouri, Skip Weston and wife Angie of Potosi, Missouri; four grandchildren, James Boone, Lane Michael, Jessica Lea and Ella Marie, a very dear and special life long friend, Margaret Lane of Potosi, Missouri. Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Chester Weston, husband, Billy Morgan, one brother, James Dees, two sisters, Diane White and Patsy Fones.

Dixie enjoyed fishing and going to the creek to bar-b-que and spending time with family and friends. She was always ready to go to the boats and Las Vegas. She loved to play cards. Dixie was an avid bowler for many years and enjoyed the time spent at Barb Ann Lanes with her many friends. Dixie and her husband Bill owned and operated the Potosi Package Store for many years. She attended Pleasant Hill Church and was a bus driver for the Potosi School District. Mostly Dixie loved to spend time with her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, friends and grandchildren, her family was truly her life.

Visitation was held Saturday, December 16, 2006 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Sunday, December 17, 2006 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and Monday, December 18, 2006 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held Monday, December 18, 2006 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Elder Leonard Compton and Brother Carl Wilson officiating. Musical selections played for the Service were “Amazing Grace”, “Back in Baby Arms”, “Holes in the Floor of Heaven” and “The Dance”.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Sunset Hill Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. Serving as Pallbearers were David Sancegraw, Bradly Light, Shawn Weston, Ricky Hollinsworth, Johnny Portell and Joshua Portell, Honorary Pallbearers were Jim Morgan and Billy Weston.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
