Robert William Mueller
Robert “Bob” William Mueller of Potosi, Missouri was born Friday, November 2, 1923 in Saint Louis, Missouri. He was the son of the late Hildegard (Haeller) Mueller and Albert Mueller. Bob departed this life at the St. John’s Mercy Medical Center on Thursday, November 1, 2007 at the age of Eighty-three years, Eleven months and Thirty days.
Bob was united in marriage to Stella Bernice Courtois on April 13, 1963 in Maryland Heights, Missouri. They were blessed to have one daughter.
Bob is survived by his loving and devoted wife of Forty-four years, Stella Bernice Mueller of Potosi; one daughter, Sharon “Dee Dee” Estes and husband John of Potosi; two grandchildren, Beth Hamilton and husband Steve, Glen David “G.D.” Nickelson, two step grandchildren, Laurie Estes; Aaron Estes and wife Angie; eight great grandchildren, Isack, Sophia, Caleb, Landon, Emily, Megan, Hannah and Ashlynn; a very dear and special niece, Kathy Phares and by many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Bob was also preceded in death by one sister, Jackie Mueller.
Bob served this great Country in the United States Army. He enlisted on February 26, 1943 at Jefferson Barracks, he served as a parts clerk and attended the motor school in Fort Cook, Nebraska to certify as an engine specialist. He received the Victory Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theatre Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and four Overseas Bars. Bob was Honorably Discharged on March 20, 1946 at the Separation Center, Jefferson Barracks.
Bob was a member of the VFW Post #6996. He was an avid Saint Louis Cardinal Baseball Fan who would support them through thick and thin. He loved to take time and watch, listen or talk Cardinal Baseball. He enjoyed driving around the area and country both for pleasure and as his job took him as a truck driver. In his younger years, Bob enjoyed flying Cessna planes and kept his pilot license through the years. Also raising and riding horses brought Bob great enjoyment.
Bob had a great love for his family and friends. He always enjoyed the time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren each of them held a very dear and special place in his heart.
Visitation was held Sunday, November 4, 2007 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Monday, November 5, 2007 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Monday, November 5, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Deacon Ed Boyer officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Glen Nickelson, Jr., Steve Hamilton, John Estes, Paul Phares, Terry Estes and David Reece.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Redbud Memorial Gardens, Potosi, Missouri where Bob received full military honors consisting of a firing party, taps, flag folding and presentation.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
