Ferman Dane Nash
Ferman Dane Nash of Jacksonville, Florida was born October 29, 1946 in Ironton, Missouri to the late, Ferman and Leota (Strickland) Nash and departed this life on April 23, 2010 at the Park Ridge Nursing Center, Jacksonville, Florida having reached the age of sixty-three years, five months and four days.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Savanah VanVactor. Those who remain to mourn his passing are his children, two daughters Dawn Marie VanVactor, husband, Joe of Jacksonville, Florida, Arlinda Jean Coffell of Summerville, South Carolina, three sons Wesley Nash, Rick and Gary Meyer all of Ingleside, Texas, six grandchildren, Jillian Brunson, Eric Coffell, Devan James and John Dillion VanVactor, Tyler and Josie Nash.
Also surviving is one sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Merle Hill of Potosi, Missouri, niece Carla Talbert and nephew Dennis Hill and wife Diane, one great nephew Trevor and great niece Allison Hill, Jaime LaVanchey and husband Matthew of Barnhart, Missouri.
Dane was a graduate of Potosi R-3 High School and attended Mineral Area College. Dane was employed by Chrysler for several years before moving to the state of Louisiana and opening an air conditioning and refrigeration business known as A-Aron Heating, Cooling and Refrigeration.
Dane professed faith in Christ at an early age and became a member of the Potosi Southern Baptist church and upon relocating moved his membership to Calilean Missionary Baptist Church in Valley Park, Missouri. Dane loved gospel music and later sang bass in a men’s gospel group who traveled around the Jacksonville area but he would tell you his greatest joy was being chosen by Billy Graham’s Evangelistic Team to counsel in the 2001 Jacksonville Crusade. Dane also loved the great outdoors. In his earlier years his favorite hobbies included hunting, fishing and camping. In recent years after becoming disabled he formed Bible study groups in whatever care facility he was residing in at the time.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the ALS Foundation.
Memorial Visitation Sunday, May 16, 2010 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Memorial Service was held Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Brother Wayne Isgriggs officiating.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
