Juanita Helen Nicholson of Potosi, Missouri was born on Sunday, December 17, 1933 in Banner, Missouri a daughter of the late, Minnie (Cox) Harbison and Ozie Harbison. Juanita departed this life on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 having reached the age of seventy-nine years, ten months and six days.
Juanita is survived by two daughters, Robin Boyer and husband, Billy Joe of Potosi, Missouri; Sherrie Cresswell of Potosi, Missouri; one sister, Violet Hurst of Piedmont, Missouri; four grandchildren, Scott Alan Bailey and wife, Diana of St. Louis, Missouri; Larry Dale Cresswell and wife, Elizabeth of Kirkwood, Missouri; Adam Jeffery Boyer of Potosi, Missouri; Kimberleigh Dale White of Potosi, Missouri; three great-grandchildren, Ava Bailey, Jake Cresswell, Claire Cresswell; two sons-in-law, Danny Boyer of Potosi, Missouri; Tim White of Potosi, Missouri; also surviving are other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dale E. Nicholson, two daughters, Tammy Boyer, Lisa White, one son-in-law, Jim Cresswell and several brothers and sisters.
Juanita married Dale on March 6, 1954, and had four daughters, Robin, Sherrie, Tammy and Lisa. The saying, “Behind every successful man is a strong woman” was meant for her. After Dale’s untimely death in 1986, Juanita took over Dale’s trucking business, Ozark Truckers, and ran their cattle farm, Nicholson Farms, before retiring a few years later. Juanita adored her family and lived for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Known by her loved ones as Ma Ma Nita, she never had a favorite, but made everyone feel as if they were her favorite.
Visitation was held Friday, October 25, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri with Pastor Judy Jeffery officiating. Scott Bailey, Larry Dale Cresswell and Adam Boyer Honored their Ma Ma Nita’s Life and the Love she has given, by sharing an inspirational Eulogy.
Final Prayers and Burial took place at Nicholson Farm, Potosi, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Scott Bailey, Larry Cresswell, Adam Boyer, Billy Joe Boyer, Danny Boyer and Tim White.
