ALMA JEAN NIXON
JEAN NIXON OF MINERAL POINT, MISSOURI WAS BORN AT IRONDALE, MISSOURI ON APRIL 16, 1933. SHE IS THE DAUGHTER OF LEVA (BECK) PROVINCE AND THE LATE JOSEPH PROVINCE. JEAN DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT HER HOME IN MINERAL POINT, MISSOURI ON APRIL 16, 2002 HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF SIXTY-NINE YEARS.
JEAN WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO ROBERT NIXON ON JUNE 14, 1950 AND TO THIS UNION TWO CHILDREN WERE BORN.
SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER MOTHER, LEVA PROVINCE OF IRONDALE, MISSOURI, HER HUSBAND, ROBERT NIXON OF MINERAL POINT, MISSOURI, ONE DAUGHTER, PATRICIA WHALEY AND HUSBAND BOB OF DESOTO, MISSOURI, ONE SON, MICHAEL NIXON AND WIFE BETTY OF MINERAL POINT, MISSOURI, ONE GRANDDAUGHTER, LISA STEINMANN AND HUSBAND SCOTT OF FESTUS, MISSOURI, THREE GRANDSONS, JEFF WHALEY OF DESOTO, MISSOURI, SHANE NIXON AND WIFE LORI OF MINERAL POINT, MISSOURI, AND BRANDON NIXON AND WIFE KAREN OF MINERAL POINT, MISSOURI, THREE GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, CARLEY NIXON, ETHAN NIXON AND AUSTIN NIXON ALL OF MINERAL POINT, MISSOURI, ONE SISTER, LOUISE WILLIAMS AND HUSBAND CHESTER OF BARNHART, MISSOURI, ONE BROTHER, VERNON PROVINCE OF IRONDALE, MISSOURI AND SEVERAL NIECES, NEPHEWS AND MANY OTHER RELATIVE AND FRIENDS. IN ADDITION TO HER FATHER SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY ONE BROTHER, CECIL PROVINCE.
JEAN'S FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HER BY HER GARDENING SKILLS, ALWAYS HAVING BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS THROUGHOUT HER YARD. HER EXPERTISE IN NEEDLE WORK WAS EVIDENT IN HER SEWING, CROCHETING AND EMBROIDERING SKILLS. DURING JEAN'S YOUNGER DAYS SHE ENJOYED ICE SKATING AND ROLLER SKATING FOR FUN AND EXERCISE. JEAN WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED BY HER LOVING AND GENEROUS ATTITUDE TOWARDS FAMILY AND FRIENDS.
VISITATION WAS HELD AT 5:00 PM TO 9:00 PM ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17, 2002 AND 10:00 AM TO 1:00 PM ON THURSDAY, APRIL 18, 2002 AT THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME IN POTOSI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE CONDUCTED AT 1:00 PM ON THURSDAY, APRIL 18, 2002 AT THE MOORE MEMORIAL CHAPEL WITH ELDER LEONARD COMPTON OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN THE HOPEWELL CEMETERY UNDER THE DIRECTION OF MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI.
SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE BRANDON NIXON, SHANE NIXON, GARY SMITH, SCOTT STEINMANN, JEFF WHALEY AND TIM WILLIAMS.
