June Faye Nixon

June Faye Nixon of Mineral Point, Missouri was born on June 4, 1946 in Hopewell, Missouri a daughter of the late Edna (Carlyon) and Guy Nixon. June departed this life on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital having reached the age of sixty years, seven months and two days.

June is survived by five sisters, Ruth Humphrey and husband R.C. of Hopewell, Missouri, Margaret Sanzotera of Hopewell, Missouri, Katherine Turnbough and husband Lindel of Mineral Point, Missouri, Myrtle Balderson and husband Everette of Evans, Georgia, Judy Portell of Old Mines, Missouri; three brothers, Clyde Nixon and wife Mary of Potosi, Missouri, Robert Nixon of Hopewell, Missouri, Fred Nixon and wife Carol of Mineral Point, Missouri. June was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Edna Nixon, one brother, Guy Elmer Nixon, Jr., three sisters, Mildred Benz, Marian Smith and Shelba Jean Nixon.

June was always making people laugh and taking pictures. She was a fan of George Jones and the St. Louis Cardinals. June enjoyed visiting Georgian Gardens Nursing Home with the Dickinsons to sing. She also loved the Handicapped Center and spending time with everyone there. June loved playing with balloons and cards. She loved to spend her spare time looking at pictures of all of her many family and friends.

Visitation was held Monday, January 8, 2007 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, January 9, 2007 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Service was held Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Guy Conway and Reverend Mark Turnbough officiating. Music was provided by June and Don Dickinson who played and sang “In the Sweet By and By” and “Precious Memories”.

Final Prayers and burial took place in the Hopewell Cemetery in Hopewell, Missouri. Serving as Pallbearers were Freddie Nixon, Ron Nixon, Mike Nixon, John Allen Dontrich, Gary Williams and Jimmy Conway.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
