Donald Ray Olaker
Donald Olaker of Cadet, Missouri was born on Tuesday, March 29, 1938 in Red Jacket, West Virginia a son of the late, Opal (Mounts) Olaker and Troy Olaker. Donald departed this life on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at his residence having reached the age of seventy-one years, three months and ten days.
Donald was united in marriage to Carol Courtway on November 7, 1964 in Old Mines, Missouri.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Carol Olaker of Cadet, Missouri; one daughter, Tammy Glore and husband, Jeff of Potosi, Missouri; one son, Donald Goff; seven sisters, Lorain Simpson of Bridgeton, Missouri, Tina Collins and husband, Al of West Virginia, Judy Hyatt of Indiana, Ruth Posey of Maryland, Betty Fuller of West Virginia, Sandy Altic of North Carolina, Gail Fields of Indiana; two brothers, Arthur Olaker of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Daniel “Chuck” Olaker of Florida; six grandchildren, Tucker Goff, Brandon Goff, Justin Glore, Eric Glore, Vanessa Saunders and husband, Jeremy, Regina Joslin; five great grandchildren, Landon Saunders, Mikey Glore, Emily Glore, Austin Goff, Page Glore; nephew, Gary Decker and wife, Dana of Cadet, Missouri; good friend, Darren Young; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by one daughter, Paula Joslin, one sister, Barbara Hatfield and one brother, Fred Olaker.
Donald enjoyed working in his yard, planting flowers and rebuilding lawnmowers. He was always joking with his family and friends who he loved dearly. During his younger years Donald played guitar and sang. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and also spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. Donald will be forever remembered for the love and laughter he shared.
Visitation was held Friday, July 10, 2009 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, July 11, 2009 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend John Jones officiating and music provided by Mrs. Shelly Jones. Honoring Donald by serving as pallbearers were: Gary Decker, Gary Decker, Jr., Phillip Dickerson, Darren Young, Alan Guenther, Greg Guenther and Johnny Chuck Dickerson.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
