Oliver “Bud” Lucian Osia

Oliver “Bud” Osia was born on Friday, March 30, 1917 in Old Mines, Missouri a son of the late Rosia (Politte) Osia and Lucian Osia. “Bud” departed this life on Thursday, April 26, 2007 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of ninety years and twenty-seven days.

“Bud” was united in marriage to Lucille Coleman on January 27, 1943 in Old Mines, Missouri, this union was blessed with one daughter.

“Bud” is survived by one daughter, Doris Lawson and husband Gene of Cadet, Missouri; two grandchildren, Dr. Alicia Lawson of Old Mines, Missouri, Eric Lawson of Old Mines, Missouri; two great grandchildren, Jordan Lawson and Paige Key Lawson both of Old Mines, Missouri. In addition to his parents “Bud” was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lucille Osia and one sister, Mildred Yates.

“Bud” attended the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri. He worked as a machine operator for a mining company for many years, and enjoyed cattle farming in his younger years. “Bud” loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be lovingly missed by all of his family and friends.

Visitation was held Friday, April 27, 2007 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, April 28, 2007 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Funeral Mass was Celebrated on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper officiating.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery where “Bud” was laid to rest next to his wife, Lucille Osia. Serving as Pallbearers were Terry Lawson, Donald Coleman, Terry Drennen, David Agers, Kenny Miller and Mike Portell.

A Luncheon was provided for family and friends after the services at the St. Joachim School Hall.

Memorials may be made to the St. Joachim Catholic School, Old Mines, Missouri.

Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
