Martha Louise Overman
Martha Boyer Overman of Potosi, Missouri was born on June 8, 1949 in Cadet, Missouri a daughter of the late, Louise Mae (Sanders) Boyer and Clyde John Boyer. Martha departed this life on March 28, 2009 at her residence having reached the age of fifty-nine years, nine months and twenty days.
Martha was united in marriage to Donald Curtis Hornsey on April 26, 1967 and five children were born to this union.
Martha is survived by one son, Donald Hornsey, Jr. of Marion, Illinois; four daughters, Ann Boyer of DeSoto, Missouri, Tammy Pierce and husband, Shawn of Mineral Point, Missouri, Glenda Hornsey of Park Hills, Missouri, Brenda Thebeau and husband, Chuck of Potosi, Missouri; two sisters, Virginia A. Saunchegraw of Cadet, Missouri, Patricia M. Southard and husband, Bob of DeSoto, Missouri; one brother, Clyde James Boyer “James Kiss” of Festus, Missouri; twelve grandchildren, four great grandchildren, cousin Linda Lattimore of House Springs, Missouri; also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by one brother, John Earl Boyer, and former husband, Donald Hornsey, Sr.
Martha spent many years caring for home health patients, which she enjoyed very much. She loved traveling all over the United States, seeing many different sights. She also enjoyed spending time watching movies. Martha loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Visitation was held Wednesday, April 1, 2009 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Thursday, April 2, 2009 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Chuck Thebeau, Tony Parmeley, Brenda Thebeau, Tammy Pierce, Glenda Hornsey and Ann Boyer.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
