James Leroy Parrott, Sr. of Caledonia, Missouri was born on March 9, 1942 in Alton, Missouri a son of the late, Lona Leona Mae (Spaulding) Parrott and James Dallas Parrott. He departed this life on January 12, 2013 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital, Potosi, Missouri having reached the age of seventy years, ten months and three days.
Jim was united in marriage to Karen “Kay” Sigsbee on December 22, 1972 in Farmington, Missouri.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Karen “Kay” Parrott of Caledonia, Missouri; two daughters, Tanya Maria Moder-Boehm and husband, Milton Boehm of Barnhart, Missouri, Missy Parrott and partner, Danny Warren of Belgrade, Missouri; two sons, James Leroy Pattott, Jr. of Belgrade, Missouri, Charles Dallas Parrott of Belgrade, Missouri; two grandchildren, Dennis “D.J.” Moder, Jr. and Brandi Nichole Moder; one great-granddaughter, Isabella Grace Moder; also surviving are other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by one brother, Gene Stotler and his sisters, Zelma, Geneva, Flossy, Bessie, Juanita, Mae, Wilma and Velma.
Jim received his bachelor or arts degree from Missouri University mastering in Spanish. Many referred to Jim as a walking Google of knowledge. He loved sharing his stories and would always give his full attention to whomever he was speaking with. Jim was a member of the Tyro Lodge # 12 AF & AM being a Past Worshipful Master and was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 321 and served as a Past Worthy Patron. Jim loved his family to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with each of them. He was a devoted husband to Kay for over forty years.
Visitation was held Tuesday, January 15, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Tyro Lodge Service at 7:00 PM and visitation continuing Wednesday, January 16, 2013 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Rick Lasley officiating.
Final Prayers and Burial took place in the Bellevue Presbyterian Cemetery, Caledonia, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were: Danny Warren, Don “Hondo” Sanderson, Charles Parrott, DJ Moder, Milton Boehm, John Rastorfer, Mark Harris and Gerald Morris, Jr.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
