“Sissy” as she was known to her many friends, was a woman who had an honest zest for life and everything it stood for. She was dedicated to her family and friends well above of what is required of one person. She was a person who would give someone the shirt off her back if they needed it or the last dollar in her wallet. This compassion is why so many grew to love her the way they did.
“Sissy” enjoyed beginning her day by reading her Bible. She was dedicated to serving God in her life and tried to be a shining light for Him in all that she did. Although she never joined any one church, she enjoyed attending Saturday evening Mass at St. James Catholic Church.
Her hobbies were playing bingo, crocheting afghans for her grandchildren and spending time with what she called her greatest gifts from God…Gavin, Braylie, Carlee and Taylor, her great-grandchildren who were all born in the same year. After several years of heartache and tragedies, they gave her a bright sparkle in her eyes and breathed life back into her soul.
“Sissy” was a member of the Potosi Elk’s Lodge # 2218 and had served as Loyal Knight. Her passion for joining the Elk’s was to assist in the annual Christmas Charity Auction and clothing the needy children of our county. The time spent with the children warmed her heart. She will be forever remembered for the love and laughter she shared with her many loved ones.
