Arvasteen Payne of Potosi, Missouri was born in Bakersfield, California on July 19, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Orven and Lillian (Grist) Fink. Arvasteen departed this life April 28, 2005 at her residence, having reached the age of sixty-eight years nine months and nine days.
Arvasteen was united in marriage to Jesse Payne on August 23, 1952. To this union they were blessed with six children.
Arvasteen is survived by her husband Jesse Payne, one daughter; Linda Payne of Longview, Texas, five sons; Darrell Payne and wife Carolyn of Herman, Missouri, Danny Payne of Calipatricia, California, Roy Payne and wife Charlene of Morrison, Missouri, William Payne and wife Nancy of Potosi, Missouri, Orven Payne and wife Lashonda of Gasconade, Missouri, one sister; Beatres Welker and husband Wes of Shingle Springs, California, one brother; Hurbert Fink and wife Treva of Bakersfield, California, eighteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Arvasteen was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Winford Fink.
Arvasteen’s love for life was evident in her daily activities. She enjoyed creating charcoal drawings and paintings. She also spent a lot of her time taking care of her husband Jesse.
A graveside service was held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 2, 2005 at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Potosi, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
