Amy Leona Peppers
Amy Leona Peppers of Blackwell, Missouri was born on Tuesday, December 17, 1940 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late Hassel (Shaver) and Delbert Johnson. Amy departed this life on Saturday, June 10, 2006 at the Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Festus, Missouri having reached the age of sixty-five years, five months and twenty-four days.
Amy was united in marriage to Paul E. Peppers, Sr. On May 23, 1961 in DeSoto, Missouri.
Amy is survived by her daughter, Pamela May Blankmann of Potosi, Missouri, three step-daughters, Marsha Peppers, Patty Peppers, Brenda Brewer, son, Paul E. Peppers, Jr. of DeSoto, Missouri, step-son, James E. Peppers, five sisters, Pat Henson and husband Fred of House Springs, Missouri, Carrol Moran of Festus, Missouri, Fern Austin and husband Douglas of St. Louis, Missouri, Janice Newcomb and husband Stephen of St. Louis, Missouri, Brenda Poole of St. Louis, Missouri, brother, Garry Johnson and wife Sharon of Mayfield, Kentucky, and five grandchildren. Amy was preceded in death by her mother and father, Hassel and Delbert Johnson, husband, Paul E. Peppers, Sr. on January 30, 2005, daughter, Hassey Rennee Peppers, sister, Janie Swader, brother, and Jack Johnson.
Amy loved to work in her yard growing flowers, plants and enjoyed the beauty of Mother Nature. She also enjoyed shopping, especially at her favorite store, Wal-Mart. Amy was a remarkable person not only for her longevity but for the intensity and clarity of focus with which she lived her life. She will always be remembered for the love she shared.
Visitation was held Tuesday, June 13, 2006 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Wednesday, June 14, 2006 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Father Ted Pieper officiating.
Burial took place in the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri. Serving as Pallbearers were Gary Johnson, Dave Koester, Keith Blankmann, Neil Blankmann, Mike Isbell and Jacob Buerk.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
