Dorothy Mae Perry Huster was born on February 24, 1924 in Pilot Knob, Missouri. She was the daughter of the late William and Bertha Jane (Hayes) Aldridge. Dorothy departed this life on June 11, 2005 at Georgian Gardens Nursing Center in Potosi, Missouri, having reached the age of eighty-one years, three months, and eighteen days.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter; Dorothy Hampton and husband Shelby of Belgrade, Missouri, granddaughter; Angela Midgett and husband Peter of Belgrade, Missouri, two great grandchildren; Preston Midgett, Kelsey Midgett, and brother; Newton W. Aldridge and wife Jen of St. Charles, Missouri. Dorothy was preceded in death by two husbands; Dempsey Perry in April 1970, Fred Huster on April 21, 1997, three brothers; Sam Aldridge, John Aldridge, Charles Aldridge, three sisters; Mary Slayton, Sara Meyers, and Myrtle Montgomery.
Dorothy enjoyed to cook many wonderful foods, among her favorites were fried chicken, pies, cakes, cookies, and making jelly. She also loved to spend time gardening and canning food. Dorothy had a passion for dancing, as soon as she heard music she would head straight to the dance floor. Among Dorothy’s many activities she enjoyed attending the Potosi senior bingo and attended the Pilot Knob Baptist Church in Pilot Knob, Missouri. Dorothy was a very wonderful woman and will be deeply missed by her friends and family.
Visitation was held Monday, June 13, 2005 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday, June 14, 2005 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home in Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Service was held Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel in Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Firmin Gettinger officiating.
Burial took place on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at Big River Cemetery, Irondale, Missouri.
Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
