Robert A. Politte

Robert A. Politte of Cadet, Missouri departed this life Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at the Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri having reached the age of sixty-nine years, six months and seventeen days. He was born on August 3, 1938 in Bliss, Missouri. A son of the late, Earl J. Politte and Lillie (Boyer) Politte. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Brian Scott Politte.

Robert was united in marriage to Rachel (Miller) Politte on December 16, 1961 and to this union four children were born. Connie Middleton, William “Bill” Politte, Marcie Meystrik and Brian Scott Politte (deceased).

He served in the United States Army from October 3, 1961 to October 2, 1963 and camped with thousands of other soldiers on the beaches of Florida during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1963.

He loved the outdoors and all kinds of hunting and fishing. He loved deer hunting with his son, family members and buddies. His health made it hard for him to walk in the woods to hunt deer. That did not stop him from getting a large buck while sitting in his lawn chair in the woods. Grabbing suckers was one of his favorite sports, second only to eating them. He was the euchre champ of the family and was always ready to play if there were three other takers. Nobody could win a hand like Bob could!

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his loving wife of forty-six years, Rachel Politte of Cadet, Missouri, one son, William “Bill” Politte and wife Renee of Potosi, Missouri. Two daughters, Connie Middleton and husband Tim of Potosi, Missouri, Marcie Meystrik and husband Jeff of St. Louis, Missouri. Five sisters, Hazel Pinson of Cadet, Missouri, Wilma Kernan and husband, Patrick of Farmington, Missouri, Janet “Jan” Gilliam and husband, Harvey of Cadet, Missouri, Joan Kincaid of Cadet, Missouri, Sandra Swift and husband, Danny of Potosi, Missouri. Two brothers, Ronnie Politte and wife, Mary of Cadet, Missouri, Kenny Politte and wife, Retia of Imboden, Arkansas. Four grandsons, Nick, Jeremy, Ryan and Daniel Politte, five granddaughters, Stacey and Katie Middleton, Shanay Politte, Ellie and Maggie Meystrik and one great grandson, Jaden Politte.

Bob loved his family with all his heart. He was proud of his children and he treasured each and every one of his grandchildren.

Visitation was held Friday, February 22, 2008 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, February 23, 2008 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
