Mary Angela Portell
Angela Portell of St. Louis, Missouri formerly of Cadet, Missouri was born on Monday, December 4, 1922 in Cadet, Missouri, the daughter of the late Albert Bequette and Mary Emma (Dean) Bequette. Angela departed this life on Friday, May 26, 2006 at the Mark Twain Manor in St. Louis, Missouri having reached the age of eighty-three years, five months and twenty-two days.
Angela is survived by her son, Vernon P. Portell and wife Kathy of Merritt Island, Florida; sister, Theresa “Bill” Coleman of Old Mines, Missouri; brother, Paul Bequette and wife Mary Aurelia of Arnold Missouri; one sister-in-law, Louise Walton, one grandson, Kevin Paul Portell of New York, New York, and special friend, Florence Carlson. Angela was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mary Emma Bequette and two brothers, Norval Walton and Victor Walton.
Angela was a teacher for many years, and enjoyed helping children better their education. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and will be deeply missed by everyone.
Visitation was held Friday, June 2, 2006 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturday, June 3, 2006 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
A Funeral Mass was held Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joachim Catholic Church, Old Mines, Missouri with Monsignor James Hanson officiating. Serving as pallbearers were, Mike Bequette, Mike Portell, Jeremy Marty, Jeremy Barber, John Seiffertt, Bobby Walton, Rob Benns (Cross Bearer), and honorary pallbearers, Paul Bequette, Carly Coleman.
Burial took place in the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery, Old Mines, Missouri.
Services were Entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
