Harry Portell

Harry Richard Portell was born on Thursday, March 15, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri a son of the late, Mary Rachael (Juliette) and George Richard Portell. Harry departed this life on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at his residence having reached the age of eighty-five years, five months and twenty-six days.

Harry was united in marriage to Rosemarie Renshaw on May 29, 1945 in Potosi, Missouri and were blessed with five sons.

Harry is survived by three sons, Timothy B. Portell and wife, Audrey of Potosi, Missouri; Stephen M. Portell and wife, Debra of Bakersfield, California; Matt Portell and wife, Susan of Bakersfield, California; daughter-in-law, Marcia Portell of Potosi, Missouri; twelve grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Harry was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rosemarie, two sons, David Portell, Mark J. Portell and one sister, Berniece Reando.

Harry enjoyed working in his yard and woodworking. He also enjoyed watching wrestling and St. Louis Cardinals Baseball. Harry will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Memorial Visitation was held Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.

A Memorial Service was held Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel, Potosi, Missouri with Brother Don Strauser officiating.

Moore Funeral Homes was Honored to be selected to direct the services for Harry, his family and friends.
