June Portell
Leota June Portell of Potosi, Missouri departed this life Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at the Washington County Memorial Hospital in Potosi, Missouri, at the age of Sixty-seven Years, Four Months and Three Days. June was born Wednesday, August 18, 1937 in Belgrade, Missouri a daughter of the late Mary (Brazil) Bouse and Clifford Bouse.
June is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Brickey and husband Jon of Potosi, Missouri; one son Orville Scott Portell and wife April of Potosi, Missouri; three brothers, Randy Bouse and wife Sharon of Potosi, Missouri, Ed Bouse and wife Barb of Potosi, Missouri, Barry Bouse of Sedalia, Missouri; two grandchildren, Alyssa Brickey of Potosi, Missouri, Kelly Eckhoff Portell of Potosi, Missouri; In-laws, Jean and Ross Roberson of Potosi, Missouri, Bunny and Joyce Portell of Old Mines, Missouri, Dave and Pat Portell of Potosi, Missouri, Janet and Dave Gerdeman of Wright City, Missouri, Jerry and Dorothy Portell of Salem, Missouri; Special Niece, Marisa Bouse, Nieces, Marty Portell, Karen Gomez, Lisa Moore, Andrea Bell; Nephews, Kelly Bouse, Randy Allen Bouse, Mark Bouse, Michael Vance, Adam Bouse; Dear and Special Friends, Linda Thompson, Rosemary Elliott, Joe Fitzwater; Father of Cheryl and Scott, Orville Portell of Potosi, Missouri; Loving and Caring pet and child Fuzzy of the home and by many other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents, June was also preceded in death by one brother, John (Sonny) Bouse.
June had a great love for people and the community she lived in, in this love she chose to be a donor to Mid America Transplant Services in hopes of helping people with her passing.
June was an active Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader for many years. She co-ordinated a Girls softball league where mothers and daughters could play ball together. She was very active in the Les Petites Society and the Washington County Democrat Club. June enjoyed relaxing and working and playing on the computer.
Visitation was held Wednesday, December 22, 2004 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Thursday, December 23, 2004 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore Funeral Home, Potosi, Missouri.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 23, 2004 at 11:00 AM at the Moore Memorial Chapel with Reverend Doctor Michael A. Coleman officiating. Musical selections played were “Go Rest High on that Mountain” and “Potters Hand”.
Final prayers and burial was held Thursday, December 23, 2004 at 12 Noon at the Redbud Memorial Gardens, Potosi, Missouri with Reverend Doctor Michael A. Coleman officiating.
Services were entrusted to the Care and Direction of the Moore Funeral Homes, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.
